Hi! I’m Katie Cannon. If you’ve made it this far, you know I’m a graphic designer and illustrator who creates work across a variety of styles and disciplines.

What you don’t know is I’ve forever been a devotee of all things visual. My mom called me “her little art student” because of my tendency to wear huge, crazy statement jewelry long before folks were doing it on the regular — at least in our neck of the woods — and because a design obsession was only slightly overshadowed by a girl’s best friend: horses.

I went off to college with my sights set on being an equine veterinarian, specifically for racehorses, until the cool quiet and camaraderie found in the J-School’s basement darkroom reeled me in. (Even today, I count a bunch of those folks among my very best friends.) Anyway, I bolted from the sciences and permanently landed in the Vis Comm department of the J-school, where I studied photography and grapic design.

I started my career as a multimedia producer at msnbc.com, where I shot, edited, and produced still images and video, working closely with fantastically talented illustrators and graphic designers. After that run came to an end, I began to further explore the graphic design side of my degree in subsequent positions, and here I am!
