A Brand’s New Generation

Issaquah Highlands is a community that was created in 1998, and needed a brand refresh in order to reflect the existing modern, green-living, community-minded residents — as well as attract new ones. This issue of Connections, a newsprint publication, was a vehicle to help launch the new brand. I was responsible for the the cover concept, art direction, and design of the cover and the inside pages seen below. I was not responsible for the selection of the infant.

I used the leaf repeatedly throughout the design in an effort to help readers find the hidden leaf and i within the H of the icon, created by an outside firm. Seeing more than the surface-level H helps to create more buy-in from the community.
